Tsumiki writes Aooo’s ‘DAYS!’ as the ending theme for Grow Up Show

Aooo’s new single “DAYS!” carries an uncommon credential for a release at this stage of an artist’s trajectory: every note and lyric was written by Tsumiki, the composer and lyricist whose anime-adjacent work has accumulated hundreds of millions of streams across Japanese digital platforms. The single serves as the ending theme for the TV anime “Grow Up Show: Himawari’s Circus Troupe,” placing Aooo’s voice at the center of a pairing that puts a new performer alongside one of Japanese pop’s most in-demand songwriters.

Tsumiki’s involvement in “DAYS!” is not a cosmetic credit. In the ecosystem of Japanese digital music, where the anime pipeline has become one of the most reliable pathways to building a streaming audience, a Tsumiki composition carries a quality signal: the songwriter has built tracks that consistently outlive their broadcast context and develop listener lives well beyond the shows that first carry them. Aooo’s voice now has to inhabit that architecture and demonstrate that the match works both ways.

The single is structured as a three-track release, giving “DAYS!” more room than a standard anime tie-in single allows. Beyond the title track, the additional material gives Aooo space to establish a voice across slightly different emotional registers — a range that matters for an artist still building name recognition outside dedicated Japanese music listener communities.

That name recognition is still developing. “DAYS!” has not confirmed Spotify availability, which limits its immediate reach beyond Japan’s domestic streaming ecosystem and the YouTube-first communities that follow anime releases internationally. Anime-linked music has shown the capacity to move across borders at scale — the right track, in the right season, attached to the right show, can travel — but that journey depends on distribution channels that “DAYS!” does not yet have access to.

The early listener counts reflect where Aooo currently sits: under a thousand tracked listeners on international platforms, with YouTube views still building through the broadcast cycle. Tsumiki’s songwriting raises the ceiling on what “DAYS!” might eventually reach; it does not determine the speed of the climb or resolve the question of whether Aooo’s voice will extend beyond the anime’s dedicated audience to the wider J-pop listener base that follows Tsumiki’s output on its own terms.

“DAYS!” is now available on YouTube, where the official music video runs alongside the TV anime’s broadcast schedule in Japan. International streaming distribution, if it follows, would be the next meaningful signal about the intended reach of the Tsumiki-Aooo pairing beyond this season.
