GTA 6 Leaker Threatens to Release the Full Story Mode if Its Memecoin Hits $30 Million

The newest threat from the Grand Theft Auto VI leaker reads like a ransom note but is priced like a fundraising round. Cyberleek says it will release the game’s whole story, ending and credits included, unless Take-Two gives in. Read the small print and the trigger is not anything Rockstar does. It is the price of a cryptocurrency.

That distinction matters more than the spoiler scare dominating the coverage. A threat with a deadline pressures a company. A threat with a price target pressures buyers, and the buyers Cyberleek is courting are the same fans it claims to be defending.

What Cyberleek is threatening

The group updated its website with a warning, IGN reports: if its memecoin reaches a market capitalisation of $30 million, it will release a GTA 6 build with the “full story mode, played to the end, credits and all.” Whether that means a downloadable build or a recorded playthrough is unclear. The same notice offers Take-Two “one way out: physical disks and a public apology.”

Beneath the headline threat sits a ladder of smaller ones built around Lucia, the game’s co-lead. TheGamer lists the rungs: a bikini clip at a $2 million market cap, topless footage at $3 million, full nudity at $4 million and close-ups at $6 million. The pitch to holders is blunt: “ask for what you want to see, and it gets provided.” The site also runs polls on what leaks next, and votes are paid in the token.

Why the numbers are the story

The coin, $CYBERLEEK, is a Solana memecoin launched in mid-August alongside the first wave of clips, according to GTA Boom. When IGN published, its market cap stood at $3.8 million, after a spike to $5.7 million earlier the same day as the news spread on social media. Thirty million is roughly eight times that, and IGN called it unlikely. That is why the number works. An unreachable top tier keeps the threat alive indefinitely, while the reachable rungs below it give buyers a reason to push the price up now.

The record supports a skeptical read. Analysis of late-August crypto transactions indicated the leaker had cashed out about $270,000, IGN reports. In August, a $3 million milestone unlocked a strip-club clip, FandomWire noted, and the first “full build” ultimatum to go viral that month was a fake screenshot that never appeared on the group’s site.

The material itself is not fake. This week’s roughly 24-minute package showed cutscenes, story beats, a first-person camera and both Jason and Lucia as playable characters. How the footage escaped Rockstar’s security remains unclear, IGN says. Rockstar called the August leaks “heartbreaking” for its developers and said it hoped everyone would “wait a bit longer to experience the game for themselves.”

A real grievance, a fake remedy

Cyberleek’s demand lands on a genuine sore point. Rockstar confirmed in June that boxed copies of GTA 6 contain a download code rather than a disc, and independent retailers such as Canada’s Video Games Plus and the US shop Loot Box Gaming said they would not stock it. In August, the leaker’s on-screen text accused Sony and Rockstar of “killing your right to own and resell your games.” Yet the consumer campaign Stop Killing Games publicly disowned the leaker that same month, and IGN reports wide skepticism that the group cares about physical media at all. A protest whose success metric is a token price is not a protest about discs.

Take-Two is not negotiating. It is litigating. In August it filed DMCA subpoenas in federal court in New York seeking records from Microsoft and Discord that could identify whoever runs the persona, Video Games Chronicle reported, and GTA Boom says the requests later widened to X and Google. Nobody has been publicly identified or arrested. IGN notes that unmasking the leaker may depend on whether social networks and crypto exchanges can be compelled to talk.

What it means for players

For anyone waiting on the game, nothing about the launch has moved. GTA 6 arrives on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S at $79.99, and the box still holds a code. The first exposure is spoilers: with weeks to go, the story is now a bargaining chip, and anything Cyberleek posts can surface in a recommendation feed. The second is financial. Buying the coin to vote on leaks means funding the operation, at prices its operator has already shown a willingness to sell into, and GTA Boom warns that stolen builds circulating online can be malware-laden.

Rockstar is charging $79.99 for the ending of GTA 6. Cyberleek has set its own price for it, in a coin that has already paid out once to whoever runs it, and that bill is addressed to the fans.
