500 Finger Fillet: the Unfair Flips creator trades a coin for a knife and makes luck hurt

Heather Flowers built an audience on a coin that hates you. Unfair Flips, a clicker about chasing ten heads in a row against odds rigged from the first toss, became streamer fodder precisely because losing to probability, over and over, turned out to be riveting to watch. The next game from Flowers, 500 Finger Fillet, keeps that cruel arithmetic of chance and repetition, and moves the stakes from a coin to the player’s own hand.

The premise takes an old bar dare, stabbing a knife between your spread fingers as fast as your nerve allows, and turns it into a trap. You are handcuffed to a hand-stabbing machine that will not let you go until it has struck your hand five hundred times, and the clock gives you twenty minutes. Every stab lands between the fingers or into them. The only real question the game asks is how much of your hand you are willing to spend to get out.

The systems are where Flowers’ fascination with odds comes back. Every so often you choose what the machine stabs you with next, from a dull Rusty Fork to an all-seeing Ritual Knife, and each blade carries its own chance of taking a finger. Stabbing earns money; money buys items and rings that bend the probabilities in your favour, so every purchase is a wager that the next strikes will go better than the last. Rock Paper Shotgun summed it up as Buckshot Roulette by way of Clickolding, and the studio itself points to CloverPit, Panik Arcade’s slot-machine roguelite about gambling your way out of a cell. It is a lineage of games that make luck feel physical and personal.

DEADBODY Games is new, but its roster is not. Alongside Flowers, who leads the studio, the team lists Mickey Sanchez (Order Automatica), Josie Brechner (Rift of the NecroDancer), Jacob Stratton (CrowHallow) and the composer Surasshu (Way to the Woods, Steven Universe). In the announcement, the studio describes its focus as the macabre, the absurd and the self-destructive, which reads less like a slogan than an accurate summary of its debut.

Alongside the launch date trailer, the team has expanded the free demo with five new knives, new rings and modifiers, an unlockable difficulty setting, quality-of-life fixes and a number of new endings it pointedly declines to count.

500 Finger Fillet launches on PC via Steam on November 12, 2026, the date listed on its store page and in the trailer posted to Flowers’ channel. DEADBODY Games is self-publishing, with Future Friends Games running its press campaign.

Unfair Flips proved that watching someone lose to a probability curve could be its own spectacle. 500 Finger Fillet asks a nastier version of the same question: what happens when the odds stop being abstract and start being counted in fingers.
