French rapper La Fève has released FINIS-LES, a 23-track record that runs just under an hour and is presented as his first official album. Until now he had worked in mixtapes, short EPs and the Empty the Bin series, compilations of songs he left off his projects. The album is out on Walone, his own label structure, with distribution by Sony Music Entertainment France.

The size is the story. La Fève, raised in Fontenay-sous-Bois in the Val-de-Marne, built his following on scarcity: a handful of projects, long silences, and a mixtape, ERRR, that took him from SoundCloud to a platinum certification in France. After the last Empty the Bin volume he went quiet for months. FINIS-LES answers that silence with volume, and most of its songs are short, between two and three and a half minutes, so the hour comes from the track count rather than from long cuts.

The title track came first, as a single built on a pure ego-trip, with a video set in a hair salon, and a remix with (D)Juno and 13Jenaya kept it in circulation over the summer. Two more songs prepared the ground before the album: “2026” and “RIEN D’EXCEPTIONNEL”, which he performed for a COLORS session. All three sit on the record, the first at the centre of its first half.

The guest list stays close to his own generation. Flacko Cram appears on “RR”, 1PLIKÉ140 on “RS CARBON”, Bedry and 63KLUF on “NAN !” and Theodora on “APPELLE LA POLICE”. The exception is Rim’K of 113, a veteran from Vitry-sur-Seine, also in the Val-de-Marne, who joins him on “VILLE”, the second-to-last track. An interlude titled “KOSEI” nods to Kosei, his partner on the KOLAF EP.

The length is also the risk. Early listener reactions split along that line: on Album of the Year, users give FINIS-LES 73 out of 100 across 77 ratings, with praise for the production and complaints that the writing thins out over 23 tracks. Last.fm counted 11,147 listeners and 133,073 plays in the first days, a solid start for a rapper whose audience is mostly French-speaking, but no proof yet that a long album can keep the attention his rare drops used to command.

FINIS-LES came out on October 23. The title track was released as a single on June 18, “2026” followed at the end of August and the COLORS performance in September. La Fève, born in Paris in 1999, released ERRR in December 2021, then 24 in December 2023 and the surprise mixtape BIGLAF in September 2024.

The test now moves to the stage. La Fève has announced the Finis-les Zénith Tour, his first run of large venues, with dates in France between February and March 2027, including Lyon’s LDLC Arena on February 12 and stops in Nantes, Lille and Bordeaux.
