Jane Remover’s ‘Beauty Sleep’ casts her as a lab specimen who escapes to the sea

Jane Remover has released “Beauty Sleep”, her first new single since the album Revengeseekerz and the ♡ EP, and she opens the new chapter by putting herself under glass. In Brendon Burton’s video she plays a specimen kept in a laboratory tube and prodded by scientists in a white-tiled room, until she breaks out and rides a motorcycle to the coast. The track comes out on deadAir, the label behind Revengeseekerz.

The song runs just under four minutes and sits where hyperpop meets electroclash. Disorienting synthesizer lines ride a straight four-on-the-floor kick, and sharp electronic cymbal crashes cut across the mix. That steady pulse gives “Beauty Sleep” a clearer dancefloor shape than its jagged surface suggests, and it is the detail most early reviews have fixed on.

Burton is a returning collaborator. He also directed the video for “Dreamflasher”, one of Remover’s best-known songs, and the new clip keeps his taste for glamour with a science-fiction edge. The escape story suits the release: a body kept under observation that walks out of the room on its own terms.

The single also closes a stretch in which Remover spread her work across several names. Earlier in the year she posted “Headbanger” and “Conversion 2” to SoundCloud, and she still releases music as Leroy and as Venturing. On stage those identities have merged. Her UK and European Live Exhibit tour ended at Reading Festival with a set that pulled material from all three projects and reworked songs such as “Dreamflasher” for a festival crowd.

The early numbers point to an audience that follows her closely. The official video passed 460,000 views on YouTube in roughly a week, and Last.fm counts close to 30,000 listeners and more than 279,000 plays for the track.

“Beauty Sleep” arrived on September 23 while Remover was still on the road. Her sold-out North American Live Exhibit tour, which follows festival sets at Coachella, Roskilde and Reading, has remaining stops in Denver and Portland before it closes in Seattle on October 7. Revengeseekerz and the ♡ EP both came out in 2025.

No album has been announced to follow the single. For now it stands on its own, and its video already hands Remover the ending she chose: out of the tube, onto the bike and off toward the water.
