For most of her time on camera, Khloé Kardashian has played the sister who says what the viewer is thinking. She was the loud one, the funny one, the one whose body the tabloids kept measuring against her sisters’. What makes her worth a closer look now is how completely she has turned that part into leverage. She is an executive producer of the series that films her family, she fronts a protein-snack company stocked by Target and Starbucks, and she hosts a podcast where she gets the last word. The stories that still follow her hardest, though, are the ones she never got to edit.

She grew up in Los Angeles, the third daughter of Kris Jenner and Robert Kardashian, the attorney who would later be known around the world for his place on O.J. Simpson’s defence team. Kourtney and Kim came before her, her brother Rob after, and later the half-sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner. Conventional school never quite fitted. She moved through several Los Angeles schools before finishing at Alexandria Academy, a one-to-one alternative programme, and graduated a year early, at seventeen. Before television found the family, she worked as an assistant to Nicole Richie.

Khloé, born on 27 June 1984, was twenty-three when Keeping Up with the Kardashians arrived on E! in 2007, and the show ran for twenty seasons over almost fourteen years. Khloé’s role in it was fixed early: the blunt, self-mocking sister who punctured everyone else’s poses. The show also filmed her worst moments. After an arrest for driving under the influence in 2007, she was ordered to jail in July 2008 for violating her probation and was released after less than three hours because of overcrowding, and the cameras went with her. In 2009 she took a turn on the second season of The Celebrity Apprentice, finishing tenth of sixteen.

That same year she married the NBA forward Lamar Odom, a month after they met. The wedding opened a run of spin-offs built around her: Kourtney and Khloé Take Miami, then Khloé & Lamar in 2011 and 2012, then Kourtney and Khloé Take The Hamptons. In 2012 she co-hosted the second American season of The X Factor with Mario Lopez and was not asked back. She filed for divorce in December 2013. When Odom was hospitalised after an overdose in Nevada in October 2015, she withdrew the petition so that she could make medical decisions for him, and stayed at his side through the recovery. The divorce was finalised in December 2016.

By then she had found the subject that would carry the next decade: her own body. Her 2015 book Strong Looks Better Naked turned years of public weight commentary into a fitness memoir. In 2016 she launched Good American with the British entrepreneur Emma Grede, a denim label built on extended sizing that, by its founders’ account, sold a million dollars on its first day. A talk show for the cable channel FYI, Kocktails with Khloé, was cancelled the same year after fourteen episodes. From 2017 to 2019 she hosted and executive-produced Revenge Body with Khloé Kardashian on E!.

The contradiction sits in those two titles. One business sold inclusion, the jeans that fit the women other brands ignored; the television format sold transformation as payback, a body remade to get even with whoever had hurt you. Both were sincere, and both came from the same woman who had spent years hearing her size debated on air, which is exactly why the tension never resolved. Her private life ran on the same split screen. Her relationship with the Canadian basketball player Tristan Thompson, father of her daughter True, born in April 2018, collapsed in public more than once over reports of his infidelity, reconciled on camera, and ended in December 2021, when it emerged that he had fathered a child with another woman. Their son, Tatum, was born by surrogacy in July 2022. Viewers were invited to admire her forgiveness and question it in the same episode, and she has never fully escaped that double reading.

The past caught up with her again in 2026. Netflix released Untold: The Death & Life of Lamar Odom on 31 March 2026, and Kardashian took part. When Odom went on NBC’s Today days later and played down her role in his recovery, she answered on her podcast, Khloé in Wonder Land, on 15 April: she said she had sat for hours as an unpaid favour, that she regretted being involved, and that she felt played. It was an unusual moment for a woman who controls so much of her own coverage. The one story she could not frame was the one she had lived through most closely.

Her working life now looks more like a producer’s than a cast member’s. The Kardashians, the Hulu continuation that began in April 2022, credits her and her sisters as executive producers. The podcast launched in January 2025. Khloud, her protein popcorn brand, reached Target in April 2025 and has since spread to Walmart, Starbucks and supermarket chains under a chief executive who previously worked at the soda brand Poppi. “The timing was everything,” she told Fortune in August 2026, adding that Good American now runs on its own and does not need her as much. Reports since have described her as an investor and ambassador there rather than an operator. That same month she widened the frame further with The Girls: A Khloé Kardashian Project, a six-episode Hulu series she executive-produces about her circle of close friends, released all at once on 21 August.

The next chapter is already on screen. The eighth season of The Kardashians arrived on 8 October 2026 on Hulu in the United States and on Disney+ elsewhere, with new episodes every Thursday, and its trailer leads not with romance but with Kim’s diagnosis of esophagitis. Khloé will be in the room again, as sister, as producer and as the one most likely to say the quiet part aloud. The question her career keeps asking is whether the woman who learned to sell what the cameras saw can keep deciding which parts of her life they get to see.
