“Talk to Me” (2023) Movie Review: A quite good horror movie

“Talk to Me” (2022) is a horror movie directed by Danny and Michael Philippou, starring Sophie Wilde, Joe Bird and Alexandra Jensen among others.

“Talk to Me” is presented with the A24 seal and touted as the scariest film of the year and the debut of two young boys who, according to critics, have come to revolutionize cinema forever.

While they may indeed be here for that purpose, no one denies it, but this film is not as groundbreaking as it claims to be, and its plot does not lead us to a completely innovative movie.

Is it a good horror film? Certainly, and these two boys know how to direct very well. Beyond being a great first genre film, only time will tell if they have truly revolutionized the industry because here you will find a rather classic story of encounters with spirits from beyond.

Synopsis

When a group of friends stumble upon the ability to summon spirits using a preserved hand, they become captivated by the newfound excitement. However, their fascination takes a dark turn when one of them takes it too far and crosses a dangerous line.

Review of “Talk to Me”

A horror film that is born as a horror film and aims to be exactly that, drawing from all the knowledge and tradition of a genre in which, they say, everything has already been invented. One would have to mention the excellent film “Hereditary” to prove those who claim that wrong, and “Talk to Me” is one of those movies that, with its superb execution, twists, and even stylistic ambition, once again offers the story of a group of teenagers and their fateful encounters with the Ouija board.

The ratings that come with the film may be part of the outstanding marketing of the production company, or perhaps if you have only seen a hundred or two hundred horror films, but the movie is not as surprising as advertised, and in fact, it lacks the foundation to be so.

However, it deserves credit in terms of its cinematography, as it has excellent pacing and reaches a high level of achievement in its execution, framing, editing, and effects. Technically, it is very well done, but it never strays from what it is and what it never wants to stop being: a teenage horror film that conforms to the classic mold and, while maintaining a high level of quality within the genre, neither transcends nor reinvents it.

Our Opinion

It is a good film. If we hadn’t had such high expectations before its release, we would probably be pleasantly surprised. However, the hype surrounding its release has played a trick on us, and due to our high expectations, it ultimately falls short.

“Háblame” (2022) es una película de terror dirigida por Danny y Michael Philippou, protagonizada por Sophie Wilde, Joe Bird y Alexandra Jensen entre otros.

“Háblame” se presenta con el sello de A24 y como la película más espeluznante del año y el debut de, según los críticos, los dos chicos jóvenes que han llegado para revolucionar el cine para siempre.

Puede que hayan llegado para eso, nadie lo niega, pero ni esta película es para tanto ni su argumento nos lleva a una película totalmente novedosa.

¿Buena película de terror? Desde luego, y estos dos chicos saben dirigir muy bien. Más allá de una estupenda primera película de género, el tiempo dirá, porque aquí os encontraréis con una historia más bien clásica de encuentros con los espíritus del más allá.

Sinopsis

Cuando un grupo de amigos descubre la capacidad de invocar espíritus utilizando una mano preservada, quedan cautivados por la nueva emoción. Sin embargo, su fascinación toma un giro oscuro cuando uno de ellos va demasiado lejos y cruza una línea peligrosa.

Crítica de “Háblame”

Una película de terror que nace como una película de terror y quiere ser exactamente una película de terror, con todo lo aprendido y con toda la tradición de un género en el que, dice, está todo inventado. Habría que hablar de una estupenda Hereditary para quitar la razón a los que afirman eso, y “Háblame” es de ésas películas que, con una estupenda factura, giros y hasta ambición a nivel estilística, ofrecen otra vez la historia del grupo de adolescentes con la oiuja y sus nefastas pero habituales consecuencias.

Las calificaciones con las que viene la película, puede que parte del estupendísimo marketing de la productora o puede que, si sólo has visto cien o doscientas de terror, pero la película ni es tan sorprendente como la venden ni, es más, tiene una génesis para serlo.

Eso sí, tiene su mérito en cuanto a lo cinematográfico, ya que tiene un ritmo excelente y es una historia que, a nivel de realización, alcanza el notable alto, lo mismo que los encuadres, el montaje y efectos. Técnicamente, muy buena, pero sin dejar de ser en todo momento lo que es y lo que nunca quiere dejar de ser: una película de terror de adolescentes que se adapta al molde clásico y, aún manteniéndose en un nivel de notable dentro del género, ni lo trasciende ni lo reinventa.

Nuestra Opinión

Buena película. Si no hubiéramos esperado tanto antes de su estreno, probablemente estaríamos ante una gran sorpresa, pero aquí el bombo previo a su estreno nos ha jugado una mala pasada y, por esperar demasiado, nos ha terminado por saber a poco.

“La Main” (2022) est un film d’horreur réalisé par Danny et Michael Philippou, avec notamment Sophie Wilde, Joe Bird et Alexandra Jensen.

“La Main” est présenté sous le label A24 comme le film le plus effrayant de l’année et le premier film des deux jeunes réalisateurs qui, selon les critiques, sont arrivés pour révolutionner le cinéma pour toujours.

Ils sont peut-être arrivés pour cela, personne ne le nie, mais ce film n’est pas aussi révolutionnaire que cela et son scénario ne nous emmène pas vers un film totalement novateur.

Un bon film d’horreur ? Certainement, et ces deux réalisateurs savent très bien diriger. Au-delà d’un excellent premier film dans le genre, seul le temps nous le dira, car vous vous retrouverez ici avec une histoire plutôt classique de rencontres avec des esprits d’outre-tombe.

Synopsis

Lorsqu’un groupe d’amis découvre la capacité d’invoquer des esprits en utilisant une main conservée, ils sont captivés par cette nouvelle émotion. Cependant, leur fascination prend un tournant sombre lorsque l’un d’entre eux va trop loin et franchit une ligne dangereuse.

Critique de “La Main”

Un film d’horreur qui naît comme un film d’horreur et qui veut être exactement un film d’horreur, avec tout ce qui a été appris et avec toute la tradition d’un genre dans lequel, dit-on, tout a déjà été inventé. Il faudrait parler d’un excellent film comme “Hereditary” pour contredire ceux qui affirment cela, et “La Main” fait partie de ces films qui, avec une excellente réalisation, des rebondissements et même une ambition stylistique, offrent à nouveau l’histoire du groupe d’adolescents avec la planche ouija et ses conséquences néfastes mais habituelles.

Les critiques qui accompagnent le film, peut-être une partie du formidable marketing du studio ou peut-être, si vous n’avez vu que cent ou deux cents films d’horreur, mais le film n’est pas aussi surprenant qu’il est vendu, et en fait, il n’a pas une genèse pour l’être.

Cependant, il a du mérite sur le plan cinématographique, avec un rythme excellent et une histoire qui, du point de vue de la réalisation, atteint une note élevée, tout comme les cadrages, le montage et les effets. Techniquement, c’est très bien, mais cela reste tout le temps ce qu’il est et ce qu’il ne veut jamais cesser d’être : un film d’horreur pour adolescents qui s’adapte au moule classique et, tout en maintenant un niveau élevé dans le genre, ne le transcende ni ne le réinvente.

Notre avis

Bon film. Si nous n’avions pas tant attendu avant sa sortie, nous serions probablement face à une grande surprise, mais la publicité précédant sa sortie nous a joué un mauvais tour et, en en attendant trop, nous avons finalement été déçus.

“Talk to Me” (2022) ist ein Horrorfilm von Danny und Michael Philippou, in dem unter anderem Sophie Wilde, Joe Bird und Alexandra Jensen mitspielen.

“Talk to Me” wird von A24 präsentiert und als der gruseligste Film des Jahres angepriesen. Laut Kritikern markiert er das Debüt zweier junger Talente, die das Kino für immer revolutionieren sollen.

Sie können zwar genau das tun, was sie wollen, aber dieser Film ist nicht so überdreht, dass er uns zu einem völlig neuen Film führt.

Ein guter Horrorfilm? Auf jeden Fall, und diese beiden Jungs verstehen ihr Handwerk. Als einer der großen Pioniere des Genres wird sich zeigen, ob sie das Potential dazu haben, denn hier zeigen sie eine ganz klassische Geschichte der Anfänge und der Ursprünge des Genres.

Inhalt

Als eine Gruppe von Menschen, die das Gefühl sucht, eine Gruppe von Menschen zu sein, die mit einer gefestigten Hand arbeitet, sind sie fasziniert von der neuen Sensation. Doch ihre Faszination nimmt eine dunkle Wendung, als einer von ihnen zu weit geht und eine gefährliche Grenze überschreitet.

Kritik an “Talk to Me”

Ein Horrorfilm, der als Horrorfilm gemacht wurde und genau das sein will: ein Horrorfilm, der alle Elemente und die ganze Tradition eines Genres zusammenbringt, in dem alles tief verwurzelt ist. Man müsste über einen großartigen Film wie “Hereditary” sprechen, um diejenigen zu widerlegen, die das behaupten, und “Talk to Me” ist einer dieser Filme, die mit großartiger Handwerkskunst, Wendungen und sogar stilistischem Ehrgeiz erneut die Geschichte einer Gruppe von Teenagern mit einem Ouija-Brett und ihren verhängnisvollen, aber üblichen Konsequenzen erzählen.

Die Recherche, mit der der Film daherkommt, könnte Teil der riesigen Märkte der Produktionsindustrie sein oder wenn man nur einen oder zweihundert oder zweihundert Horrorfilme gesehen hat. Der Film ist nicht so überraschend, wie er beworben wird und hat sogar eine Entstehungsgeschichte, um es zu sein.

Dennoch verdient er Anerkennung in Bezug auf die filmische Umsetzung, da er ein ausgezeichnetes Tempo hat und eine Geschichte ist, die in der Umsetzung ein hohes Niveau erreicht, ebenso wie die Bildkomposition, der Schnitt und die Effekte. Technisch sehr gut, bleibt er jedoch zu jeder Zeit das, was er ist und was er nie sein wird: ein Teenager-Horrorfilm, der klassischen Mustern entspricht und trotz eines hohen Niveaus innerhalb des Genres weder übertrifft noch neu erfindet.

Unsere Meinung

Ein guter Film. Wenn wir nicht so lange auf seinen Start gewartet hätten, wären wir wahrscheinlich von einer großen Überraschung überrascht worden. Der Hype um die Eröffnung hat uns aber ein wenig aus dem Tritt gebracht, und wir haben aufgrund der hohen Erwartungen schließlich eine gewisse Akzeptanz erreicht.

“Talk to Me” (2022) è un film horror diretto da Danny e Michael Philippou, interpretato tra gli altri da Sophie Wilde, Joe Bird e Alexandra Jensen.

“Talk to Me” è presentato con il marchio A24 come il film più spaventoso dell’anno e il debutto dei due giovani registi che, secondo i critici, sono arrivati per rivoluzionare il cinema per sempre.

Possono essere arrivati per questo, nessuno lo nega, ma né questo film è così tanto speciale né la trama ci porta a un film completamente innovativo.

Un buon film horror? Certamente, e questi due ragazzi sanno dirigere molto bene. Oltre a essere un ottimo primo film di genere, il tempo dirà, perché qui troverete una storia più classica di incontri con gli spiriti dell’aldilà.

Recensione di “Talk to Me”

Un film horror che nasce come un film horror e vuole essere esattamente un film horror, con tutto ciò che è stato imparato e con tutta la tradizione di un genere in cui, si dice, tutto è stato inventato. Bisognerebbe parlare di un ottimo film come “Hereditary” per smentire coloro che affermano ciò, e “Talk to Me” è uno di quei film che, con una buona realizzazione, colpi di scena e anche ambizione stilistica, offre ancora una volta la storia del gruppo di adolescenti con la tavola ouija e le sue nefaste ma consuete conseguenze.

Le valutazioni con cui arriva il film, potrebbero essere parte di un ottimo marketing della casa di produzione o potrebbe anche essere che se hai visto solo cento o duecento film horror, ma il film non è tanto sorprendente come viene pubblicizzato e, anzi, ha una genesi che potrebbe renderlo tale.

Tuttavia, merita dal punto di vista cinematografico, avendo un ritmo eccellente e una storia che, a livello di realizzazione, raggiunge un voto alto, così come le inquadrature, il montaggio e gli effetti. Tecnicamente molto buono, ma senza mai smettere di essere ciò che è e ciò che non vuole mai smettere di essere: un film horror per adolescenti che si adatta al classico stampo e, pur mantenendosi a un livello notevole nel genere, non lo supera né lo reinventa.

La nostra opinione

Un buon film. Se non avessimo aspettato così tanto prima della sua uscita, probabilmente saremmo di fronte a una grande sorpresa, ma qui il clamore precedente alla sua uscita ci ha giocato un brutto scherzo e, aspettando troppo, alla fine ci è sembrato poco.

“Vorbeste cu mine” (2022) este un film de groază regizat de Danny și Michael Philippou, cu Sophie Wilde, Joe Bird și Alexandra Jensen, printre alții.

Prezentat sub eticheta A24, “Vorbeste cu mine” a fost prezentat ca fiind cel mai înfricoșător film al anului și debutul a doi tineri cineaști despre care se spune că au revoluționat cinematograful pentru totdeauna.

Deși este posibil ca aceștia să fi avut un impact, acest film nu este atât de revoluționar pe cât susțin unii critici, iar povestea sa nu oferă nimic cu totul nou.

Este un film de groază bun? Cu siguranță, iar cei doi cineaști au dat dovadă de abilități regizorale deosebite. Dincolo de faptul că este un prim film de gen excelent, doar timpul va spune dacă vor revoluționa cu adevărat industria. În acest film, veți găsi o poveste destul de clasică despre întâlniri cu spirite de dincolo.

Sinopsis

A24スタンプが押され、今年最も怖い映画と賞賛された『Talk to Me』は、批評家によれば、映画に永久の革命を起こしに来た2人の若い映画監督のデビュー作である。

彼らはそのつもりでやってきたのかもしれないが、この映画は主張されているほど画期的ではなく、そのストーリーは完全に斬新な映画へと導いてはくれない。
