The Conference is a 2023 Swedish slasher comedy film directed by Patrik Eklund and written by Thomas Moldestad. It is based on the novel by Mats Strandberg. The film stars Kalle Holmqvist, Jakob Öhrman, and David Dencik.

Friday the 13th is the perfect day for a good slasher film with a touch of dark humor and a classic soundtrack. “The Conference” comes with a good dose of a very peculiar, ironic, and intelligent sense of humor.

This movie goes beyond a simple murder flick, and ironically addresses issues such as public employment, urban planning, and the use of public resources.

Synopsis

A group of public sector employees attend a team-building conference at a remote hotel. The conference begins innocently enough, but soon turns into a nightmare as a mysterious masked killer begins stalking and picking off the participants one by one. As the body count rises, the remaining survivors must band together to survive. They must also uncover the killer’s identity and motive before they all become victims.

Review of “The Conference”

This film knows its strengths and knows how to make the most of them. Don’t expect a display of fast-paced action, flashy effects, and shocking sequences. “The Conference” is a movie starring public employees who humorously approach their work. Trapped in a hotel reminiscent of “Friday the 13th,” they will have to deal with its irony.

The strengths of “The Conference” lie in its dialogues and the irony surrounding real estate speculation, capitalism, and public employment, especially in the beginning.

In the second half, as the movie takes on a more slasher tone, it becomes even funnier, with a truly brutal and ironic ending. Its cinematic treatment is far from Hollywood.

Thus, “The Conference” offers an interesting dual reflection from the Swedish perspective: public employment and cinema itself. By taking a genre entirely “made in Hollywood” and transforming it into a European film, intelligent and ironic, it successfully finds its strengths: irony and intelligence.
It is not a bloody movie, but it does have sequences that do not seek morbidity or gruesomeness at all.

It is a more cerebral film than an adrenaline-driven one, with more internal irony than one would imagine in a seemingly simple slasher.

Our Opinion

It may not be the movie of your lives, but it has so much humor in its dialogues and deviates so much from Hollywood conventions that, without being “Dogma cinema,” it provides a more than enjoyable viewing experience.

After moving to England at a young age, she developed a passion for acting and pursued it by studying film, screen acting, and editing in London and Stockholm. One of her most notable roles was as Katrina Crane in the FOX series Sleepy Hollow, which gained her recognition. Additionally, she played the character Milla in the film The Killing Game. “La Conferencia” nos llega desde Suecia con un sentido del humor muy especial, irónico e inteligente.

Una película que va más allá de una simple peli de asesinatos y que se toma con ironía cuestiones como el empleo público, la planificación inmobiliaria y el empleo de recursos públicos.

Sinopsis

Un grupo de empleados del sector público asiste a una conferencia para fomentar el espíritu de equipo en un remoto hotel. La conferencia comienza de forma bastante inocente, pero pronto se convierte en una pesadilla cuando un misterioso asesino enmascarado empieza a acechar y a eliminar a los participantes uno a uno. A medida que aumenta el número de muertos, los supervivientes deben unirse para sobrevivir. También deberán descubrir la identidad y los motivos del asesino antes de que todos se conviertan en víctimas.

Crítica de “La Conferencia”

Una película que sabe cuáles son sus virtudes y que sabe aprovecharlas. No esperen un despliegue de ritmo, efectos y secuencias impactantes, “La Conferencia” es una película protagonizada por unos empleados públicos que se toman con humor su trabajo que, atrapados en un hotel a lo “Friday the 13th”, tendrán que lidiar con su ironía.

Las virtudes de “La Conferencia” están más en los diálogos y en la propia ironía de la especulación inmobiliaria, el capitalismo y el empleo público, sobre todo al principio.

En la segunda mitad, cuando la película toma un tono más slasher, la cinta es aún más graciosa, con un final realmente brutal, irónico y con un tratamiento cinematográfico que nada tiene que ver con Hollywood.

Así, “La Conferencia” hace una doble interesante reflexión desde el terreno de juego sueco: el empleo público y el propio cine que, cogiendo un género totalmente “made in Hollywood” lo transforma en una película europea, inteligente e irónica que, con toda la gracia, sabe acertar a encontrar sus virtudes: la ironía y la inteligencia.

No es una película sangrienta, pero tiene sus secuencias que no buscan para nada el morbo ni la viscosidad.

Una cinta más cerebral que de adrenalina y con más ironía interna de la que imaginaríamos en un -aparentemente- simple slasher.

Nuestra Opinión

No va a ser la película de vuestras vidas, pero tiene tanta gracia en los diálogos y se aleja tanto de los convencionalismos Hollywood que, sin ser “cine Dogma” pero jugando a veces incluso a serlo, proporciona un visionado más que placentero.

Un film qui va au-delà d’un simple film de meurtres et qui aborde avec ironie des questions telles que l’emploi public, la planification immobilière et l’utilisation des ressources publiques.

Synopsis

Un groupe d’employés du secteur public assiste à une conférence pour favoriser l’esprit d’équipe dans un hôtel isolé. La conférence commence de manière assez innocente, mais se transforme bientôt en cauchemar lorsque qu’un mystérieux tueur masqué commence à traquer et à éliminer les participants un par un. Alors que le nombre de morts augmente, les survivants doivent s’unir pour survivre. Ils doivent également découvrir l’identité et les motivations du tueur avant que tous ne deviennent des victimes.

Critique de “Séminaire”

Un film qui connaît ses points forts et sait les exploiter. Ne vous attendez pas à un rythme effréné, à des effets spéciaux et à des séquences percutantes, “Séminaire” est un film mettant en scène des employés publics qui abordent avec humour leur travail et qui, piégés dans un hôtel à la “Vendredi 13”, doivent faire face à leur ironie.

Les points forts de “Séminaire” résident davantage dans les dialogues et dans l’ironie même de la spéculation immobilière, du capitalisme et de l’emploi public, surtout au début.

Dans la seconde moitié, lorsque le film adopte un ton plus slasher, il est encore plus drôle, avec une fin vraiment brutale, ironique et un traitement cinématographique qui n’a rien à voir avec Hollywood.

Ainsi, “Séminaire” propose une double réflexion intéressante depuis le terrain de jeu suédois : l’emploi public et le cinéma lui-même, prenant un genre totalement “made in Hollywood” et le transformant en un film européen, intelligent et ironique qui, avec tout son charme, parvient à trouver ses points forts : l’ironie et l’intelligence.

Ce n’est pas un film sanglant, mais il comporte des séquences qui ne cherchent en aucun cas le voyeurisme ou la viscosité.

Un film plus cérébral qu’adrénaline, avec une ironie interne plus grande que ce que nous pourrions imaginer dans un slasher – apparemment – simple.

Notre avis

Ce ne sera pas le film de votre vie, mais il y a tellement d’humour dans les dialogues et il s’éloigne tellement des conventions hollywoodiennes que, sans être du “cinéma Dogme” mais en jouant parfois même à l’être, il offre un visionnage plus qu’agréable.

Freitag der 13. ist der perfekte Tag für einen guten Slasher mit makabrem Humor und einem sehr klassischen Soundtrack.

“Konferensen” kommt aus Schweden und zeigt einen ganz besonderen, ironischen und intelligenten Humor.

Ein Film, der einfache Filme und Themen wie den öffentlichen Dienst, die Stadtplanung und den Umgang mit öffentlichen Mitteln mit Ironie aufgreift.

Inhalt

Eine Gruppe von Vertretern des öffentlichen Sektors nimmt an einer Konferenz zur Stärkung des Teamgeistes in einem unabhängigen Hotel teil. Die Konferenz beginnt in Fairness, doch sie entwickelt sich zu einem Albtraum, als ein mysteriöser und geheimnisvoller maskierter Mörder die einzelnen Mitglieder des Teams zwingt, mitzumachen und zu beseitigen. Bei einer stetig steigenden Anzahl von Totalen müssen die Overlords zusammengehalten werden, um sie zu überwinden. Sie müssen auch die Identität und die Motive der Opfer herausfinden, bevor sie alle überführt werden sollen.

Kritik an “Konferensen”

Ein Film, der seine Stärken kennt und sie zu nutzen weiß. Erwarten Sie keine Angst vor Tempo, Effekten oder dramatischen Sequenzen. “Konferensen” ist ein Film, in dem Persönlichkeiten des öffentlichen Lebens ihren Job mit Humor nehmen und in einem “freien Tag im Hotel des 13. Un film che va oltre un semplice film sugli omicidi e affronta con ironia questioni come l’impiego pubblico, la pianificazione immobiliare e l’uso delle risorse pubbliche.

Trama

Un gruppo di dipendenti del settore pubblico partecipa a una conferenza per promuovere lo spirito di squadra in un remoto hotel. La conferenza inizia in modo abbastanza innocente, ma presto si trasforma in un incubo quando un misterioso assassino mascherato inizia a perseguitare ed eliminare i partecipanti uno per uno. Man mano che il numero di morti aumenta, i sopravvissuti devono unirsi per sopravvivere. Devono anche scoprire l’identità e le motivazioni dell’assassino prima che tutti diventino vittime.

Recensione di “Il convegno”

Un film che conosce i suoi punti di forza e sa sfruttarli. Non aspettatevi una frenetica sequenza di ritmo, effetti e scene scioccanti, “Il convegno” è un film che ha come protagonisti dei dipendenti pubblici che affrontano con umorismo il loro lavoro e che, intrappolati in un hotel alla “Venerdì 13”, devono fare i conti con la loro ironia.

I punti di forza di “Il convegno” risiedono nei dialoghi e nell’ironia stessa della speculazione immobiliare, del capitalismo e dell’impiego pubblico, soprattutto all’inizio.

Nella seconda metà, quando il film assume un tono più slasher, diventa ancora più divertente, con un finale veramente brutale, ironico e con un trattamento cinematografico che nulla ha a che fare con Hollywood.

Così, “Il convegno” offre un doppio interessante punto di riflessione dal terreno di gioco svedese: l’impiego pubblico e il cinema stesso che, prendendo un genere totalmente “made in Hollywood”, lo trasforma in un film europeo, intelligente e ironico che, con tutta la sua grazia, trova le sue virtù: l’ironia e l’intelligenza.

Non è un film sanguinolento, ma ha le sue sequenze che non cercano affatto il sensazionalismo o la viscosità.

Un film più cerebrale che adrenalinico e con più ironia interna di quanto si possa immaginare in un – apparentemente – semplice slasher.

La nostra opinione

Non sarà il film della vostra vita, ma ha così tanto umorismo nei dialoghi e si discosta così tanto dai convenzionalismi di Hollywood che, senza essere “cinema Dogma” ma giocando a volte persino a esserlo, offre una visione più che piacevole.

あらすじ

公共部門の職員たちが、人里離れたホテルでチームワークを養う会議に出席する。最初は何の変哲もない会議だったが、やがて謎の覆面をした殺人鬼が参加者をつけ回し、ひとりずつ殺していくうちに悪夢へと変わっていく。死体の数が増えるにつれ、生存者たちは生き残るために団結しなければならなくなる。そして、全員が犠牲者になる前に、犯人の正体と動機を突き止めなければならない。

この映画は自分の長所を知り、それを最大限に活かす方法を知っている。テンポの速いアクション、派手なエフェクト、衝撃的なシークエンスなどを期待してはいけない。『ザ・カンファレンス』は、ユーモラスに仕事に取り組む公務員と、「13日の金曜日」を彷彿とさせるホテルに閉じ込められ、その皮肉をナビゲートしなければならない公務員についての映画である。

자신의 강점을 알고 그것을 활용하는 방법을 아는 영화. 속도감 넘치는 액션, 특수 효과, 충격적인 시퀀스를 기대하지 마세요. “더 컨퍼런스”는 ’13일의 금요일’을 연상시키는 호텔에 갇힌 공무원들이 아이러니하게도 자신의 업무에 유머러스하게 접근하는 이야기를 담은 영화입니다.

“더 컨퍼런스”의 강점은 특히 초반에 부동산 투기, 자본주의, 공공 고용을 둘러싼 대사와 아이러니에 있습니다.

영화가 좀 더 슬래셔 톤을 띠는 후반부에는 정말 잔인하고 아이러니 한 결말과 할리우드와는 전혀 관련이없는 영화 적 처리로 훨씬 더 재미있어집니다.

The Conference este un film suedez de comedie slasher din 2023 regizat de Patrik Eklund și scris de Thomas Moldestad. Este bazat pe romanul lui Mats Strandberg. În film joacă Kalle Holmqvist, Jakob Öhrman și David Dencik.

Vineri 13 este o zi perfectă pentru un slasher bun, cu o notă de umor negru și o coloană sonoră foarte clasică.

“The Conference” ne vine din Suedia cu un simț al umorului foarte special, ironic și inteligent.

Acest film merge dincolo de un simplu film cu crime și abordează cu ironie probleme precum ocuparea forței de muncă în sectorul public, planificarea urbană și utilizarea resurselor publice.

Sinopsis

Un grup de angajați din sectorul public participă la o conferință de promovare a muncii în echipă la un hotel izolat. Conferința începe destul de inocent, dar se transformă curând într-un coșmar când un misterios ucigaș mascat începe să urmărească și să elimine participanții unul câte unul. Pe măsură ce numărul morților crește, supraviețuitorii trebuie să se unească pentru a rămâne în viață. De asemenea, ei trebuie să descopere identitatea și motivele ucigașului înainte ca toată lumea să devină o victimă.

Recenzie pentru “The Conference”

Un film care își cunoaște punctele forte și știe cum să le valorifice. Nu vă așteptați la o desfășurare de acțiune rapidă, efecte și secvențe uluitoare. “The Conference” este un film despre angajați publici care își abordează cu umor munca și care, prinși într-un hotel care amintește de “Vineri 13”, trebuie să facă față ironiei acestuia.

Punctele forte ale filmului “The Conference” stau în dialogul său și în ironia care înconjoară speculațiile imobiliare, capitalismul și ocuparea forței de muncă publice, mai ales la început.

În a doua jumătate, când filmul capătă un ton mai slasher, devine și mai amuzant, cu un final cu adevărat brutal și ironic, și un tratament cinematografic care nu are nimic de-a face cu Hollywood-ul.

Astfel, “The Conference” oferă o dublă reflecție interesantă din perspectiva suedeză: ocuparea forței de muncă publice și cinematograful în sine. Luând un gen care este în mod obișnuit “made in Hollywood”, îl transformă într-un film european inteligent și ironic, cu un simț al umorului acut.
Nu este un film sângeros, dar are secvențe care nu caută morbiditatea sau viscozitatea.

Un film mai mult cerebral decât adrenalinic, cu mai multă ironie interioară decât ne-am putea imagina la un slasher aparent simplu.

Opinia noastră

Poate că nu este filmul vieții voastre, dar are atât de mult spirit în dialoguri și se abate atât de mult de la convențiile hollywoodiene încât, fără a fi “cinema Dogma”, oferă o experiență de vizionare mai mult decât plăcută.
