As she races to protect the Charter and strives to overcome adversity, her humanity may become her greatest asset.

Movie Review

“Heart of Stone” is reminiscent of classic action movies but with am update to appease contemporary viewers. It starts with a spectacular action sequence in the snow, similar to “True Lies” or “Inception,” and continues to captivate throughout this highly anticipated premiere, which has the potential to become the streaming platform’s summer hit.

From the first scene, the film delivers adrenaline, with Gal Gadot reminding us of Charlize Theron’s charisma, but also showcasing her ability to carry a leading role in an spy thriller movie where the real star is the action. It is not devoid of humor, leaving us no room to breathe, it is one continuum of entertaining scenes and sequences. Interestingly enough, is that it doesn’t try to invent anything new in a genre that seems to have explored every possibility. If produced well, the formula works.

Thereby said that despite we don’t believe everything has been invented, “Heart of Stone” succeeds in its safe bet, building upon what has worked so many times before and keeping the finger on the pulse of the audience. The film understands how to cast, market, and is ambitious. Could it be this summer’s platform hit? It certainly stands a chance at becoming it.

It may not be original, as it treads on familiar territory explored in other productions, and it doesn’t reinvent the genre or strive for anything other than satisfying the audience, scene after scene, by giving them exactly what they want without demanding anything in return.

Technically, the film excels, showcasing Hollywood’s mastery in this type of production. These were the movies that used to fill movie theaters, and now, in the streaming era, they will attract subscribers to keep them hooked. This is a business, and “Heart of Stone” understands it well, behaving as such, but with the pleasant feeling of money well spent and thoroughly enjoyed.

We can attest to the fact that the film does not disappoint.

High on entertainment value and with a good production behind it, it delivers what it promises: action-packed entertainment with a joyful tone and a fast-paced rhythm that will not disappoint action genre enthusiasts.

We are definitely hoping for a sequel.

Una emocionante película de acción de la que sólo se puede decir que da todo lo que se espera de ella: acción trepidante, un buen montaje y mucha, mucha tecnología de última generación para asombrar al espectador.

Se pueden decir muchas cosas buenas de “Agente Stone” pero, sobre todo, sabe ser mantenerse fiel al género y ser una película de aventuras, espías repleta de acción hecha para contentar a los más exigentes fans del género.

Rachel Stone (Gadot) es una agente de inteligencia que es la única mujer que se interpone entre su poderosa organización de mantenimiento de la paz mundial y la pérdida de su activo más valioso, y peligroso. Cuando una misteriosa hacker Keya Dhawan (Bhatt) desbarata una misión rutinaria, las dos vidas de Rachel chocan. Mientras corre para proteger la Carta y se esfuerza por superar las adversidades, su humanidad podría ser su mayor baza.

Crítica de la Película

“Agente Stone” es una película “de las de antes” con la cualidad de haber sabido actualizarse, pero cumpliendo con los moldes clásicos: sabe comenzar con una espectacular secuencia de acción en la nieva al estilo “True Lies” o “Inception” y seguir sin defraudar en este estreno que promete, a nivel de espectadores, convertirse en el éxito del verano para la cadena de streaming.

Adrenalina desde el minuto 1, con una Gal Gadot que nos recuerda mucho a Charlize Theron, pero que sabe cómo llevar un papel protagonista en el que la verdadera protagonista es la acción trepidante. Tiene mucho sentido del humor, no deja espacio para respirar y, otro acierto o error (según cómo se mire): no pretende inventar absolutamente nada en un género en el que, parece, ya se ha inventado todo.

No creemos que todo esté inventado, pero a “Agente Stone” le sale bien su apuesta sobre seguro, sobre lo que ha funcionado tantas veces y sobre lo que dice el estudio de mercado. De esto parece que sí entiende el márquetin, sobre todo en una película que apunta a blockbuster, sabe a blockbuster y aspira, desde el minuto uno, a convertirse en la película del verano por derecho propio.

No es original, transita sobre los terrenos ya inventados en otras producciones, no reinventa el género ni quiere otra cosa que contentar a la audiencia secuencia tras secuencia buscando darle exactamente lo que pide, sin exigirle absolutamente nada.

Muy bien a nivel técnico, exhibiendo la maestría de Hollywood en este tipo de producciones: este tipo de películas era la que llenaba salas de cine y ahora, en la era del streaming, será la que llame a los abonados a seguir pagando. Esto es un negocio, y “Agente Stone” lo sabe muy bien y se comporta como tal, pero con la agradable sensación del dinero gastado bien disfrutado.

Sabe, sobre todo, no defraudar.

Espectacular. Da lo que promete: acción a raudales en una película alegre, con muchísimo ritmo acelerado que no va a defraudar a los fans del género de acción.

Lo mejor que se puede decir de una película de acción: merece una segunda parte.

Filmkritik

“Heart of Stone” ist ein Film “aus vergangenen Zeiten”, der zwar auf der Höhe der Zeit ist, aber dennoch seinen klassischen Wurzeln treu bleibt: Er beginnt mit einer spektakulären Actionszene im Schnee im Stil von “True Lies” oder “Inception” und enttäuscht nicht in dieser Premiere, die verspricht, der Sommererfolg für den Streaming-Dienst zu werden.

Adrenalin von der ersten Minute an, mit Gal Gadot, die stark an Charlize Theron erinnert, aber darüber hinwegsehen kann, dass die eigentliche Heldin des Films die actiongeladene Handlung ist. Der Film hat viel Humor, er hat keine Zeit zum Verweilen und hat einen weiteren Erfolg oder Misserfolg (wenn man die Perspektive betrachtet): er versucht nicht, etwas völlig Neues in einem Genre zu finden, in dem sich alles um etwas völlig Neues zu drehen scheint.

Wir glauben nicht, dass alles erfunden ist, aber “Heart of Stone” setzt auf eine bewährte Strategie, auf das, was schon so oft funktioniert hat und auf das, was die Marktforschung sagt. Hier scheint das Marketing zu funktionieren, vor allem bei einem Film, der wie ein Blockbuster wirkt, wie ein Blockbuster wirkt und von vornherein rechts vom Sommerfilm eingesetzt werden kann.

Er ist nicht originell, bewegt sich auf bereits erforschten Gebieten anderer Produktionen und erfindet das Genre nicht neu, sondern will nur das Publikum Szene für Szene zufriedenstellen und genau das geben, was es verlangt, ohne irgendetwas zu verlangen.

Technisch gesehen ist der Film sehr gut gemacht und zeigt die Hollywood-Attitüde solcher Produktionen: Nur solche Filme haben die Filmemacher glücklich gemacht und werden nun im Streaming-Zeitalter ihre Abonnenten dazu bringen, weiter dafür zu zahlen. Das ist ein Geschäft, und “Heart of Stone” versteht das sehr gut und benimmt sich auch so, aber mit dem angenehmen Gefühl, dass das Geld gut investiert ist.
Vor allem enttäuscht der Film nicht.

Unsere Meinung

Spektakulär. Was er sagt, ist: Action im Overdrive in einem kalten Film mit viel Zeit, was die Fans des Action-Genres nicht verstehen werden.

Das Beste, was man über einen Actionfilm sagen kann, ist, dass er eine Fortsetzung ist.

Ha un grande senso dell’umorismo, non lascia spazio per respirare e, un altro punto a favore o contro (a seconda del punto di vista): non cerca di inventare nulla in un genere in cui sembra che tutto sia già stato inventato.

Non crediamo che tutto sia stato inventato, ma “Heart of Stone” riesce bene nella sua scommessa sicura, su ciò che ha funzionato tante volte e su ciò che dice il mercato. Il marketing sembra capire questo, soprattutto in un film che punta ad essere un blockbuster, che si presenta come un blockbuster e che aspira, fin dal primo minuto, a diventare il film dell’estate per merito proprio.

Non è originale, si muove su terreni già esplorati in altre produzioni, non reinventa il genere e non cerca altro che soddisfare il pubblico sequenza dopo sequenza, offrendo esattamente ciò che chiede, senza chiedere nulla in cambio.

Dal punto di vista tecnico, è molto ben realizzato, mostrando la maestria di Hollywood in questo tipo di produzioni: questo tipo di film riempiva le sale cinematografiche e ora, nell’era dello streaming, sarà ciò che attirerà gli abbonati a continuare a pagare. Questo è un business, e “Heart of Stone” lo sa bene e si comporta di conseguenza, ma con la piacevole sensazione di aver speso bene i soldi per divertirsi.
