A highly intelligent documentary that blends a true crime-style beginning to immerse us in the world of those strange days at the end of the century and the extravagance of that small group in exile. The documentary reveals their way of life and, above all, the lives of these celebrities from the defunct monarchy in a world of dreams, glamour, and paparazzi.

Un băiat asasinat, regalitate și nenumărate cuvinte scrise despre o crimă misterioasă care părea să îl indice drept vinovat pe nimeni altul decât Víctor Manuel de Saboya.

“The King Who Never Was” este o cronică de familie cu zvonuri, mărturii și istoria ascunsă a unei Italii foarte complexe care s-a confruntat cu diverse curente politice și sociale într-un vârtej de influențe, mărturii și evenimente care modelează caracterul complicat al politicii italiene și al poporului său.

Acest documentar extrem de intrigant pornește de la o poveste de crimă adevărată și spune o narațiune incredibil de complexă pe care nici măcar persoanele implicate nu par să o poată înțelege pe deplin: povestea unei familii care moștenește o monarhie defunctă și a figurii proeminente, prințul, care reușește să scape de acuzații grave.
