“Surviving Paradise” is a reality TV contest now streaming on Netflix.

“They think they are here for a summer of luxury and a chance to win a life changing cash prize [100 k]…. They do not know the rules of the game, and have no idea that the good life will be ripped away from them…”

This is how we are introduced to this new reality TV show on Netflix, where, in 9 episodes, we follow Sisco, Taylor, Sarah Kate, Aaron, Justin, Tabitha, Lellies, Shea and Alex. Oh, and Copan, and Hayley…. I think I have covered them all, or so I hope. They seem to keep on showing up.

What is the contest about?

Well, in “Surviving Paradise” we are offered yet another reality TV show, where ruthless competitiveness comes to the fore. All the while we get to see how the players go about their “daily” routines (albeit, in a foreign environment them), and we witness how they build a rapport with their fellow contestants, to then become “foes”, and then, maybe, “friends” again. And of course, we are given an insight into their strategizing.

Once the contestants are given a taste of the good life by being shipped, champagne in hand, to a luxury villa on an island (I am guessing in Greece), in the belief that it is there the contest will take place, they are told that unfortunately that is not where it will unfold.

During their first night at the villa, and while they are enjoying a lovely party by the pool, the lights go out, and Jessimae, the show’s host, makes her entrance, emerging from the shadows to present the countless contestants with the rules of the game. Oh, the suspense. Here is the plot: they are in fact supposed to live in the “wilderness” (the adjoining plot of land to the luxury property, I suspect though, it is the unattended section of the property’s garden), where there is already a nice campsite-like setting, with a bonfire burning, and perfectly placed logs of wood around it for “comfy” seating. Indeed, the living conditions are far from optimal for the VIP expectations that had been building up in the minds of the players. Worry not, they are not in a life threatening environment.

This leads us to the real game. Now is when the strategizing begins, around the bonfire, and where the allegiances are made, and broken, and perhaps, repaired along the way….

Creen que están aquí para pasar un verano de lujo y tener la oportunidad de ganar un premio en metálico que les cambiará la vida. No conocen las reglas del juego, y no tienen ni idea de que la buena vida les será arrebatada.

Así nos presentan este nuevo reality de Netflix, donde, en 9 episodios, seguimos a Sisco, Taylor, Sarah Kate, Aaron, Justin, Tabitha, Lellies, Shea y Alex. Ah, y a Copan, y a Hayley. Creo que los he cubierto a todos, o eso espero.

¿En qué consiste el concurso?

Pues bien, aquí tenemos otro reality show en el que la competitividad despiadada pasa a primer plano. Mientras tanto, vemos cómo los jugadores llevan a cabo sus rutinas “diarias” (aunque en un entorno ajeno), y somos testigos de cómo se relacionan con sus compañeros, para luego convertirse en “enemigos”, y después, quizá, en “amigos” de nuevo. Y, por supuesto, todos y cada uno de ellos tiene una estrategia.

Una vez que a los concursantes se les da a probar la buena vida enviándoles, champán en mano, a una casa de lujo situada en una isla (creo que en Grecia), en la creencia de que es allí donde tendrá lugar el concurso, se les informa que lamentablemente no es allí donde se desarrollará la “batalla”.

Durante su primera noche en la mansión, y mientras disfrutan de una encantadora fiesta junto a la piscina, las luces se apagan, y Jessimae, la presentadora del programa, hace su entrada, emergiendo de entre las sombras para presentar a los innumerables concursantes las reglas del juego. Oh, el suspense. El argumento es el siguiente: se supone que tienen que vivir en un terreno más “bucólico” (el terreno contiguo a la propiedad de lujo, aunque sospecho que se trata de la parte desatendida del jardín de la propiedad), donde ya hay una bonita zona de acampada, con una acogedora hoguera ya encendida y asientos de madera perfectamente colocados a su alrededor. De hecho, las condiciones de vida distan mucho de ser óptimas para las expectativas VIP que se habían ido creando en la mente de los participantes. Pero no se preocupen, no están en un entorno que ponga en peligro sus vidas.

Esto nos lleva al verdadero juego. Ahora es cuando empieza la estrategia, alrededor de la hoguera, y donde se crean las lealtades, y se rompen, y quizás, se reparan a lo largo del camino.

Ei cred că sunt aici pentru o vară de lux și pentru a câștiga un premiu în bani care să le schimbe viața. Ei nu cunosc regulile jocului și nu au nicio idee că viața bună le va fi luată.

Așa facem cunoștință cu acest nou reality show Netflix, în care, în 9 episoade, îi urmărim pe Sisco, Taylor, Sarah Kate, Aaron, Justin, Tabitha, Lellies, Shea și Alex. Oh, și pe Copan, și pe Hayley…. Cred că i-am acoperit pe toți, sau cel puțin așa sper.

Despre ce este vorba în concurs?

Ei bine, iată un alt reality show în care competitivitatea nemiloasă iese în evidență. Între timp, urmărim cum jucătorii își desfășoară rutina “zilnică” (deși într-un mediu străin) și suntem martori la modul în care interacționează cu colegii lor, doar pentru a deveni “dușmani”, iar apoi, poate, din nou “prieteni”. Și, bineînțeles, fiecare dintre ei are o strategie.

După ce concurenții au gustat din viața bună, fiind trimiși, cu șampania în mână, într-o casă de lux pe o insulă (cred că în Grecia), cu convingerea că acolo va avea loc concursul, sunt informați că, din păcate, nu acolo va avea loc “bătălia”.

În timpul primei lor nopți la conac, în timp ce se bucură de o petrecere încântătoare la piscină, luminile se sting și Jessimae, gazda emisiunii, își face intrarea, ieșind din umbră pentru a le prezenta nenumăraților concurenți regulile jocului. Ils pensent qu’ils sont ici pour passer un été de luxe et avoir la chance de gagner un prix en espèces qui changera leur vie. Ils ne connaissent pas les règles du jeu et ne se doutent pas que la belle vie leur sera retirée.

C’est ainsi que nous sommes introduits dans cette nouvelle réalité Netflix, où, en 9 épisodes, nous suivons Sisco, Taylor, Sarah Kate, Aaron, Justin, Tabitha, Lellies, Shea et Alex. Oh, et Copan, et Hayley. Je pense les avoir tous couverts, du moins je l’espère.

Sur quoi porte le concours ?

Voici une autre émission de téléréalité dans laquelle la compétitivité impitoyable est à l’honneur. Pendant ce temps, nous observons les joueurs dans leurs activités “quotidiennes” (bien que dans un environnement étranger), et nous assistons à leurs interactions avec leurs pairs, qui deviennent des “ennemis”, puis, peut-être, des “amis” à nouveau. Et, bien sûr, chacun d’entre eux a une stratégie.

Une fois que les candidats ont goûté à la belle vie en étant envoyés, champagne à la main, dans une maison de luxe sur une île (en Grèce, je crois), croyant que c’est là que se déroulera le concours, ils sont informés que ce n’est malheureusement pas là que se déroulera la “bataille”.

Lors de leur première nuit au manoir, et alors qu’ils profitent d’une belle fête au bord de la piscine, les lumières s’éteignent et Jessimae, l’animatrice de l’émission, fait son entrée, sortant de l’ombre pour présenter les règles du jeu aux innombrables candidats. Oh, le suspense est à son comble. L’intrigue est la suivante : ils sont censés vivre sur un terrain plus “bucolique” (le terrain attenant à la propriété de luxe, mais je soupçonne qu’il s’agit de la partie négligée du jardin de la propriété), où il y a déjà une belle aire de camping, avec un feu de camp déjà allumé et des sièges en bois parfaitement disposés autour. En fait, les conditions de vie sont loin d’être optimales pour les attentes VIP qui ont été créées dans l’esprit des participants. Mais ne vous inquiétez pas, ils ne sont pas dans un environnement où leur vie est en danger.

Cela nous amène au vrai jeu. C’est là que la stratégie commence, autour du feu de camp, et que les loyautés se créent, se brisent et, peut-être, se réparent en cours de route.

Pensano di essere qui per un’estate di lusso e la possibilità di vincere un premio in denaro che cambierà la loro vita. Non conoscono le regole del gioco e non hanno idea che la bella vita verrà loro tolta.

Così ci viene presentato questo nuovo reality di Netflix, dove, in 9 episodi, seguiamo Sisco, Taylor, Sarah Kate, Aaron, Justin, Tabitha, Lellies, Shea e Alex. Oh, e Copan, e Hayley. Credo di averli coperti tutti, o almeno così spero.

Su cosa verte il concorso?

Ebbene, ecco un altro reality show in cui la spietata competitività viene messa in primo piano. Nel frattempo, osserviamo i giocatori mentre svolgono la loro routine “quotidiana” (anche se in un ambiente alieno) e assistiamo a come interagiscono con i loro coetanei, per poi diventare “nemici” e, forse, di nuovo “amici”. E, naturalmente, ognuno di loro ha una strategia.

Una volta che i concorrenti hanno avuto un assaggio della bella vita e sono stati mandati, champagne alla mano, in una casa di lusso su un’isola (credo in Grecia), nella convinzione che lì si svolgerà la gara, sono stati informati che purtroppo non è lì che si svolgerà la “battaglia”.

Durante la loro prima notte alla villa, mentre si godono una bella festa a bordo piscina, le luci si spengono e Jessimae, la conduttrice dello show, fa il suo ingresso, emergendo dall’ombra per introdurre gli innumerevoli concorrenti alle regole del gioco. Oh, che suspense! La trama è la seguente: dovrebbero vivere in un terreno più “bucolico” (quello adiacente alla proprietà di lusso, anche se sospetto che si tratti della parte trascurata del giardino della proprietà), dove c’è già una bella area di campeggio, con un accogliente falò già acceso e sedili di legno perfettamente disposti intorno. In effetti, le condizioni di vita sono tutt’altro che ottimali per le aspettative da VIP che si erano create nella mente dei partecipanti. Ma non preoccupatevi, non sono in pericolo di vita.

Questo ci porta al gioco vero e proprio. È qui che inizia la strategia, intorno al fuoco, e dove si creano, si spezzano e forse si riparano le lealtà lungo il percorso.

Sie glauben, sie seien hier, um einen luxuriösen Sommer zu verbringen und die Chance zu haben, einen lebensverändernden Geldpreis zu gewinnen. Sie kennen die Regeln des Spiels nicht und haben keine Ahnung, dass ihnen das gute Leben genommen wird.

So werden wir in diese neue Netflix-Reality-Show eingeführt, in der wir in 9 Episoden Sisco, Taylor, Sarah Kate, Aaron, Justin, Tabitha, Lellies, Shea und Alex folgen. Oh, und Copan und Hayley. Ich glaube, ich habe sie alle abgedeckt, zumindest hoffe ich das.

Worum geht es bei dem Wettbewerb?

Nun, hier haben wir eine weitere Reality-Show, in der der rücksichtslose Wettbewerb im Vordergrund steht. In der Zwischenzeit beobachten wir, wie die Spieler ihrem “Alltag” nachgehen (wenn auch in einer fremden Umgebung), und werden Zeuge, wie sie mit ihren Mitspielern interagieren, erst zu “Feinden” und dann vielleicht wieder zu “Freunden” werden. Und natürlich hat jeder Einzelne von ihnen eine Strategie.

Nachdem die Kandidaten einen Vorgeschmack auf das gute Leben bekommen haben, indem sie mit Champagner in der Hand in ein luxuriöses Haus auf einer Insel (ich glaube in Griechenland) geschickt werden, in dem Glauben, dass dort der Wettbewerb stattfinden wird, werden sie darüber informiert, dass dies leider nicht der Ort ist, an dem der “Kampf” stattfinden wird.

In ihrer ersten Nacht in der Villa und während sie eine schöne Party am Pool genießen, gehen die Lichter aus und Jessimae, die Moderatorin der Show, tritt aus dem Schatten hervor, um den unzähligen Kandidaten die Spielregeln zu erklären. Oh, wie spannend. Die Handlung sieht folgendermaßen aus: Sie sollen auf einem “bukolischen” Grundstück wohnen (das Grundstück, das an das Luxusanwesen angrenzt, obwohl ich vermute, dass es sich dabei um den vernachlässigten Teil des Gartens des Anwesens handelt), wo bereits ein schöner Campingplatz mit einem gemütlichen Lagerfeuer und perfekt platzierten Holzsitzen vorhanden ist. In der Tat sind die Lebensbedingungen alles andere als optimal für die VIP-Erwartungen, die in den Köpfen der Teilnehmer aufgebaut worden waren. Aber keine Sorge, sie befinden sich nicht in einer lebensbedrohlichen Umgebung.

Das bringt uns zum eigentlichen Spiel. Hier, am Lagerfeuer, beginnt die Strategie, und hier werden Loyalitäten geschaffen, gebrochen und vielleicht auch wiederhergestellt.
