Bodies is a 2023 British crime thriller limited series created for Netflix by Paul Tomalin. It is based on the DC Vertigo comic book and graphic novel of the same name written by Si Spencer and illustrated by Dean Ormston, Tula Lotay, Meghan Hetrick, and Phil Winslade. It stars Jacob Fortune-Lloyd, Shira Haas, Amaka Okafor, and Kyle Soller.

Three bodies found under similar circumstances in different time periods will lead us to a future where the same sequence is repeated, but the body is not dead. Similar time periods that share arguments and a connected case to be solved over time.

A mysterious organization is behind it, controlling time.

A repeated phrase.

This new (and highly entertaining) English thriller from Netflix starts with this spectacular plot, which will undoubtedly please fans of the genre. It has it all and knows how to take advantage of and combine science fiction with a detective narrative like Sherlock Holmes.

Once again, the world of comics knows how to bring us the arguments and ideas that, apparently, the film industry so desperately needs.

About “Bodies”

“Bodies” may be intricate and sometimes difficult to follow. It wants and needs to be confusing to attract the viewer, as it doesn’t want to make it easy or create a series that is “easy” by any means.

It starts from a brilliant idea, and perhaps the aesthetic treatment is not as great, and the pace is too conventional for such an unconventional plot: there is always a risk in inventing something new.

“Bodies” combines novelty and conventionality and manages to merge the two rhythms in an evident and conscious way.
It is elaborate and even refined in its treatment.

Our opinion

Someone also said that “The Big Sleep” was confusing, and it was. “Bodies” is almost the same, and it manages to lead us to a plot that brilliantly converges.

It may not fully please science fiction enthusiasts, and the same may happen to the more classic lovers of nineteenth-century novels, but the mixture is genuinely interesting.

Sobre “Cadáveres”

Puede que “Cadáveres” sea enrevesada, difícil de seguir a veces. Quiere y debe ser confusa en para atraer al espectador, al que no se lo quiere poner fácil ni hacer una serie, ni mucho menos, “fácil”.

Parte de una idea genial, y puede que el tratamiento estético no lo sea tanto y que el ritmo sea demasiado convencional para una trama tan poco convencional: siempre hay un riesgo en esto de inventar algo nuevo.

“Cadáveres” tiene novedad y convencionalismo y logra aunar los dos ritmos de una manera evidente y consciente.

Rebuscada y hasta refinada en el tratamiento.

Alguien dijo también que “The Big Sleep” (1946) era confusa , y lo era. A “Cadáveres” le ocurre casi lo mismo, y logra llevarnos a un argumento que logra confluir brillantemente.

Puede que no agrade del todo a los amantes de la ciencia ficción y puede que les pase lo mismo a los más clásicos amantes de las novelas decimonónicas, pero la mezcla resulta francamente interesante.

Il se peut que “Bodies” soit compliqué, difficile à suivre parfois. Il veut et doit être déroutant pour attirer le spectateur, à qui il ne veut pas faciliter la tâche ni faire une série, encore moins, “facile”.

Cela part d’une idée géniale, et il se peut que le traitement esthétique ne soit pas aussi génial et que le rythme soit trop conventionnel pour une intrigue aussi peu conventionnelle : il y a toujours un risque à inventer quelque chose de nouveau.

“Bodies” allie nouveauté et conventionnalité et parvient à fusionner les deux rythmes de manière évidente et consciente.

Complexité et raffinement dans le traitement.

Quelqu’un a également dit que “The Big Sleep” (1946) était déroutant, et c’était le cas. “Bodies” est presque pareil, et il parvient à nous amener vers un scénario qui se combine brillamment.

“Corpuri” poate fi întortocheat și dificil de urmărit uneori. Vrea și trebuie să fie derutant pentru a atrage spectatorul, deoarece nu își propune să fie un serial ușor, în niciun caz.

Potrebbe essere complicato seguire “Bodies” a volte. Vuole e deve essere confusa per attirare lo spettatore, non vuole certo rendere la serie “facile”.

Parte da un’idea geniale, anche se l’aspetto estetico potrebbe non esserlo altrettanto e il ritmo potrebbe essere troppo convenzionale per una trama così poco convenzionale: c’è sempre un rischio nel creare qualcosa di nuovo.

“Bodies” unisce novità e convenzionalità e riesce a combinare i due ritmi in modo evidente e consapevole.
Complessa e persino raffinata nella sua presentazione.

La nostra opinione

Qualcuno ha detto che anche “The Big Sleep” (1946) era confuso, ed era vero. “Bodies” è simile e riesce a portarci verso una trama che si fonde brillantemente.
