StoneHold Unveiled as a Hybrid Action MOBA and Collectible Card Game

Unleash the Power of Stone-Forged Heroes in Battle
Susan Hill

Little Orbit Inc. has announced StoneHold, a new free-to-play competitive title. The game synthesizes the third-person action of a MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) with the strategic depth of a collectible card game (CCG). This 5v5 arena battler is structured in quick, 20-minute matches, putting players in control of stone-forged “Warden” heroes. These characters are inspired by iconic RPG classes such as the Barbarian, Wizard, Cleric, Ranger, or Rogue. The title is developed on Unreal Engine 5 and features a vivid “chiseled” fantasy aesthetic.

A key component of StoneHold is its hybrid gameplay. Combat is skill-based and presented from an over-the-shoulder perspective, requiring precise timing, aiming, and smart positioning. This action is augmented by a strategic deck-building layer. Players build 30-card skill decks specific to their chosen Warden. New Skill Cards are drawn mid-match by destroying enemy turrets or by leveling up. A pivotal mechanic allows players to return to their base to swap abilities, creating a dynamic meta where strategies must adapt on the fly. The design intends to reward both mechanical skill and strategic planning, ensuring no two matches or builds feel identical.

The game’s progression model is designed to emphasize variety rather than linear power creep. Players earn unique rewards through matches and participation in events. Duplicates can be salvaged into “Shards”, a currency used to upgrade cards. This upgrade system introduces a strategic trade-off, as enhanced effects are balanced by higher mana costs or longer cooldowns. This system allows players to tune their decks with a mix of low-cost burst abilities and high-impact attacks. As a live-service title, StoneHold is planned to receive regular content updates, including new Wardens, fresh card sets, balance adjustments, and seasonal events to maintain an evolving meta.

StoneHold is scheduled to launch on PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store, and GamersFirst.com. Console versions for Xbox and PlayStation are also planned to be released soon. Players can currently wishlist the title on relevant platforms. The announcement originated from Tustin, CA, on November 11, 2025.
