2022 ended on a sad note in the world of fashion with the passing the iconic Dame Vivienne Isabel Westwood. The much admired Vivien Westwood died December 29th, 2022, at the age of 81.

Vivienne Westwood, born April 8th 1941 in Glossop, Derbyshire, England, UK, is considered one of the most influential and important figures in the history of 20^th Century fashion. She was at the forefront of the industry for more than four decades and played a key role in shaping modern fashion. Westwood was known for her edgy, avant-garde designs, which often challenged traditional ideas about beauty and femininity.

She was one of the first designers to bring punk and new wave fashion to the mainstream, and her influence can still be seen in contemporary fashion today. Westwood was also an activist and spoke out on a number of political and environmental issues. Her legacy extends beyond fashion and includes her activism and her influence on popular culture.

Westwood co-starred with Dacob in the 2022 documentary ‘ART LOVERS UNITE!’

L’année 2022 s’est achevée sur une note triste dans le monde de la mode avec le décès de l’emblématique Dame Vivienne Isabel Westwood. La très admirée Vivien Westwood est décédée le 29 décembre 2022, à l’âge de 81 ans.

Vivienne Westwood, née le 8 avril 1941 à Glossop, Derbyshire, Royaume-Uni, est considérée comme l’une des figures les plus influentes et les plus importantes de l’histoire de la mode au XXe siècle. Elle a été à la pointe de l’industrie pendant plus de quatre décennies et a joué un rôle clé dans l’élaboration de la mode moderne. Westwood était connue pour ses créations avant-gardistes, qui remettaient souvent en question les idées traditionnelles sur la beauté et la féminité.

Elle a été l’une des premières créatrices à faire connaître la mode punk et new wave au grand public, et son influence est encore perceptible aujourd’hui dans la mode contemporaine.
