Evanescence announces new single Who Will You Follow from upcoming album

Evanescence will release a new single titled Who Will You Follow as the first official music from the band’s forthcoming sixth studio album. This track represents the first lead single from an original album cycle since the launch of The Bitter Truth in 2021.

The announcement arrived through a teaser video published to the band’s social media accounts. The clip features a brief audio snippet with lead singer Amy Lee performing the title phrase over a synth-driven foundation. Lee confirmed in subsequent communications that Who Will You Follow serves as the single title and is distinct from the eventual album title.

This release ends a multi-year gap in original studio album cycles. During the interim, the band issued several soundtrack-specific recordings including the track Afterlife for the Netflix series Devil May Cry. They also released the song Fight Like a Girl featuring K.Flay for the John Wick spinoff film Ballerina. Neither of those tracks will be included on the new studio album.

Work on the sixth studio record has involved collaborations with producers Jordan Fish and Zakk Cervini. Fish and Cervini are known for their work with modern rock acts, suggesting a sonic update for the group. Studio sessions also included orchestral arrangements recorded with cellist Dave Eggar and conductor Susie Bench. Both collaborators previously worked with the band on the Synthesis project.

The band’s drummer, Will Hunt, stated that the new material represents some of the strongest work in the group’s history. These sessions mark the first time the band has worked with this specific production team for a full-length record. The album remains in the finalization stages as of the single announcement.

The band continues to hold significant commercial weight in the industry as one of fewer than 50 acts to achieve a diamond-certified album in the United States. Their debut, Fallen, continues to drive high streaming numbers through tracks such as Bring Me to Life and My Immortal. This sustained interest has expanded the band’s audience to a younger demographic via short-form video platforms.

An extensive touring schedule is already planned to support the new music. The band will headline a North American leg with Spiritbox and Nova Twins before moving to a United Kingdom and European arena circuit featuring Poppy and K.Flay.

The single Who Will You Follow premieres worldwide on Friday, April 10. The 2026 tour is scheduled to begin on June 11 in West Palm Beach, Florida, with European dates following in October.
