The Color Purpleis a musical remake (of The Purple Color, mind the word order) directed by Sam Blitz Bazawule. It stars Fantasia Barrino and Taraji P. Henson. Based on the novel by Alice Walker.

The journey of a black woman, Celie, over several decades. She grew up in extreme poverty on a cotton plantation in the southern United States. She was abused by her stepfather and then by her husband. This abuse tests her faith in God and humanity.
