Naga

Naga is a film written and directed by Meshal Aljaser starring Adwa Bader.

“Haga” is a well-executed thriller that takes place over the course of one night, in a series of unfortunate events that ultimately lead to a journey through the desert, consciousness, and toxic substances.

Meshal Aljaser directs and writes this film, which relies on the strong performance of Adwa Bader and the efforts of an entire team to bring this movie to life, make it entertaining, and ultimately, make it available to international markets through Netflix.

Our heartfelt congratulations.

Synopsis

While exploring the desert dunes of Riyadh, Sarah, a Saudi local, found herself stranded after sneaking out of her parent’s home for a romantic rendezvous. She managed to escape the difficulties and the pursuit of an energetic camel.

Movie Review

A journey that takes us (almost) on a psychedelic trip through the desert while an important football match is being celebrated. “Haga” relies more on images, experiences, and sounds than on dialogue: constant changes in style, narrative tempo, and editing take us on this journey to avoid paternal reprimands.

Will it be a life-changing movie? It’s highly unlikely, but it showcases talent in direction, editing, and performance, and above all, a curious “balance in chaos” that creates a seductive and occasionally unhinged narrative.

Our Take

A comedy, a drama, or a movie that relishes venturing into the surreal and playing with the audience. In any case, a thriller with a distinctive style: a true desert adventure.
