EXCLUSIVE: Harland Williams new comedy Wingman will make its festival debut at the 2025 Malibu Film Festival. The screening is set at the Directors Guild of America (DGA) Theater Complex in Los Angeles and is scheduled as part of the festival’s closing night lineup and Awards.

Written, directed by and starring Harland Williams; the film features an ensemble cast led by Kayla Wallace (Landman), Jamie Kennedy (Malibu’s Most Wanted), Evan Marsh (Shazam), Russell Peters (Source Code), Shiva Negar (American Assassin) and David Lipper (Full House),

In Wingman, Bob (Marsh) is on a mission to win back his ex-fiancée, Terri (Negar), who has left him for the ultra-slick Kazeem (Peters). Desperate, Bob enlists the help of Turk (Williams), a chaotic self-proclaimed “wingman,” whose unconventional tactics launch the duo into a string of wild dating misadventures. Along the way, they clash with Eddie (Kennedy), a rival wingman with his own agenda.

“We’re thrilled to premiere Wingman at the Malibu 2025 Film Festival — it’s a raw throwback comedy with heart and totally unhinged slapstick moments,” said producer Justin L. Levine of Stardust Pictures Studios. “Harland has created a film that’s both ridiculous and relatable.”

Levine, who has been friends with Jamie and Harland for nearly two decades, first collaborated with Kennedy during a comedy tour in Canada for his DVD titled Hecklers First. He also produced the Williams sketch comedy film Child Wild, in which Harland played several comedic characters.

This marks Williams’ second outing as a director following his 2009 cult comedy Fudgy Wudgy Fudge Face.

The film is produced by Justin Levine for Stardust Pictures, with EPs David Lipper and
Robert A. Daly Jr., Latigo Films. Casting by Carly Granovsky.

While the festival will stream select titles via XOLO.TV from October 15–31, Wingman is currently set to remain an in-person exclusive during the event.

Screening: Sunday, October 12 at 7:30 p.m.
