Opera Gallery is pleased to present Spring / Summer, a solo exhibition by French artist Jean Charles Blais. The show is on view until 15 June 2023.
This exhibition presents more than thirty works created by the artist since 2022, using as a support the back of torn up poster packages destined for the scrap heap.
Silhouettes come to life through inventive combinations, adding and removing paper in succession, layering and carving, with oil paint, charcoal or chalk further joining the mix. In this highly coherent body of work, where each new creation is a continuation of a previous work, figures and objects have become one.
