Wu Chi-Tsung: Synchronicity – Katonah Museum of Art

Sean Kelly is delighted to announce the opening of Synchronicity, Wu Chi-Tsung’s first museum solo exhibition which opens at The Katonah Museum of Art this weekend. The exhibition will occupy the entirety of the museum’s exhibition spaces and showcase the artist’s multi-disciplinary practice and highlight his most recent Cyano-Collage series. This ambitious body of work seamlessly incorporates Eastern aesthetics with collage and photographic processes to create reinterpretations of traditional Chinese Shan Shui (mountain-water) landscape paintings. Also on view will be Wu Chi-Tsung’s video installation, Dust, an immersive, interactive installation that provides visitors with a visceral understanding of Wu Chi-Tsung’s interest in spatiality and time. Dust highlights the artist’s ability to create a transcendent experience for viewers through his groundbreaking use of techniques and materials. Through his inventive practice and deep knowledge of traditional Chinese art techniques, Wu Chi-Tsung has created a singular body of work that expands our perception beyond the confines of conventionally delineated geographies and mediums.

Sean Kelly ha il piacere di annunciare l’apertura di “Synchronicity”, la prima mostra personale di Wu Chi-Tsung in un museo, che si aprirà presso il Museo d’Arte di Katonah questa fine settimana. La mostra occuperà l’intero spazio espositivo del museo e metterà in mostra la pratica multidisciplinare dell’artista, evidenziando la sua più recente serie di collage cianotipici. Questo ambizioso corpus di opere fonda in modo armonioso l’estetica orientale con processi di collage e fotografia, creando reinterpretazioni dei tradizionali dipinti cinesi Shan Shui (paesaggio montano-acquatico). Inoltre, sarà possibile ammirare l’installazione video di Wu Chi-Tsung, “Dust”, un’installazione coinvolgente e interattiva che offre ai visitatori una comprensione viscerale dell’interesse di Wu Chi-Tsung per la spazialità e il tempo. “Dust” mette in luce la capacità dell’artista di creare un’esperienza trascendentale per gli spettatori attraverso l’innovativo utilizzo di tecniche e materiali.
