In-person exhibition walkthrough | Tariku Shiferaw at Galerie Lelong & Co. NYC

Galerie Lelong & Co., New York, is pleased to present two in-person exhibition walkthroughs of It’s a love thang, it’s a joy thang, with the artist Tariku Shiferaw. Hear from the artist about the inspiration behind his ongoing series One of These Black Boys, and how his mark-making responds to the art historical scholarship of abstraction. The artist will also discuss the use of ready-made objects and materials as evinced in his newest site-specific installation, Jerusalema (Master KG), 2021.

It’s a love thang draws inspiration from the ongoing movement of Black joy that has increasingly gained momentum among creatives as a source of community-building and healing.

To ensure the health and safety of our staff and visitors, registration is limited. All staff and visitors are required to wear a mask and encouraged to keep a distance of six feet from one another. Hand sanitizers are readily available.
